a shrine

since rose, the first episode of the revived doctor who, aired (i was around 7 at the time), this show has been something i've had recurring obsessions with. it was my primary escape during my teen years when i was fraught with mental illness and gave me characters to relate to and enjoy the stories of. at one point i even made websites specifically dedicated to my (bad) doctor who graphics! flashforward a few livejournal and tumblr attempts and i've finally decided to make a shrine dedicated to one of my favourite shows and biggest interests of all time! i later got into torchwood (especially when moffat took over as DW showrunner) and fell in love with it (and managed to get my RTD sci-fi fix!).

perhaps the main reason i love RTD-era who so much is its characters - they feel realistic, like people i know in real life. later eras don't really capture this and instead seem to focus on convoluted plots and extraordinary personalities, losing the realism in the process.

this page is named after the beach where the 10th doctor and rose see eachother for the last time (twice). the 'norwegian' name doesn't actually translate as the show suggests and is apparently more like 'poor quality wolf beach' which is funny lol
