hello, long time no blog!! this page is a shrine to the graphics and resources sites of old, primarily hosted by piczo and freewebs. inspired partly by avenue's piczo shrine & also by old sites i've found whilst exploring web archives, i decided to make this page because of how nostalgic i am for the siteworld of the late 2000s and early 2010s.

why fallingdewdrops? falling dewdrops was the name of one of my old graphics sites from years ago, from a time i like to consider my 'golden age' of site making when i'd grown a bit older and been hosted a few times (this site was a subdomain of another site called 'wearthesun.net'). i'd developed slightly better taste and coding/photoshop ability and had started using my own photography and making some of my own resources that didn't completely suck. (they probably still did but shhhhh)

unfortunately ://, fallingdewdrops disappeared out of the blue. it transpired that my host's host (mouthful alert) had been having issues and both mine and my host's data had been deleted. after this, i returned to freewebs and made smaller portfolio sites for while (largely just as a base to keep in contact with my online friends at the time). i don't think my love for site making peaked again after that site, but i decided to pay tribute to it via a shrine on my neocities site. You can see some of my old blogs from various sites below.

It's been a weird few days. I felt great earlier in the week and had a really good time on Friday night, and today I've just dropped down to the lowest low. I don't even know why and I can't really explain it, but I'm also really tired and cold and altogether ugh.

I'll not dwell on the downs though - I've had a nice week and I feel as though I can really kick myself into gear in terms of school work and stuff like that. There's one or two things (well, teachers) that I've been angry about but I've decided not to let that get to me and I know that I'm working for me and not the teachers and I'm not going to take any more bullshit.

I planned to make some icons today but it doesn't look like its going to happen. I'd like to try some tomorrow but I have quite a bit of homework to do tomorrow so I'll see what I can do. I meant to post yesterday but I was out last night so I didn't have time. I'll reply to all comments etc asap!

I just finished my first (half)week of year 11 and I've had a good 3 days. I saw my friends and got my timetable and new teachers etc. I'm really going to try and get my head down this year because of increased grade difficulty. I think I'll resit Physics and ICT because I only got a B in them and I'd love me some A's and I think I could get them easily with some revision! I found out about the ICT 5 minutes before the exam and I concentrated on Biology rather than Physics because it's harder (but I managed to get an A :D)!

I've been over at my twitter a lot this week and I'd like to thank everyone for following me, and for anyone who hasn't please check me out. I've also been using my Tumblr a lot more too. I have been checking LJ of course aswell but I'll be waiting until weekends and holidays to make my icons. I did make some today though and I posted them at my comm so please do check them out! I would love to get more watchers over there so if you like icons/userpics of Torchwood and Doctor Who and would like to watch my progress and help me improve by commenting and giving concrit please check it out!

Wow, this cup of tea I'm drinking could be the best I've had in ages. It's so relaxing and I haven't had a good cup in hours. I'm aware that I'm rambling but after three days of being up at the crack of dawn (I could hardly more this morning) I think I'm entitled to a little rant.

My posts all seem pretty similar lately (probably because they have been so frequent and close together), and I was wondering if there was anything that anyone wanted me to blog about - any particular subject? I love writing blogs and I like the community feeling of Livejournal so much! Do leave some ideas if you can!

School starts on Wednesday and it's time I got serious. As soon as I start exam preparation I'll begin revising. I'm determined to get the grades I want this year and I might have to make a few sacrifices to get them, such as prolonged internet time. I'll still be here on Livejournal of course and over at Twitter too, and occasionally Tumblr. The grade boundaries are up and modules have been scrapped so I'm going to have to work extra hard. I want to go on to do A levels in Sociology, Geography, English Language and Psychology and then perhaps a Journalism or Sociology degree.

I pretty much have everything for school now, I just need to get a few extra things. I went on a few bike rides over the weekend and did about 10 miles on Sunday. I'll get more exercise once school starts because I have to walk up a long road every day to reach the bus stop closest to school. That's one of the upsides of school starting. Another is that I'll see my friends. I'm going into year 11 and it's meant to be the best year.

Egh, that's where the positives end. The thought of school really depresses me and although I'll be back into a routine it means coursework and revision and exams. Egh. Depressing. My year has to do linear exams now instead of modules 'cause the stupid shit conservatives and the secretary of education Michael Gove know nothing about education and what's best for high school students around the UK because they probably went to the most private and expensive of schools with stupidly high standards. Anyway. Egh, depressing. Ugh.

Egh, school starts again on Wednesday and it's my last year so it basically means tonnes of work and revision and less internet time. I've practically closed my blog for now and moved here for the time being. I'll continue to post here when I can and although my icons/graphics wont be as frequent, I'll post what I can. Icons will continue to be at my comm and I'll be making edits because they're easy and I can practice techniques. I'll be posting those along with my friend from the offline and online world our graphics comm.

As I said in my last personal post, I've been using my laptop excessively. However I have been going into town and things like that for uniform and whatnot, and yesterday I cycled down to my Nan and Granddad's house with my Dad to help cut branches of trees. Trying to do it with a tiny handsaw is not fun, and I mostly stuck to the easier job of clipping the detached branches into smaller pieces so we could fit them into a bag and take them to the recycling centre.

I haven't actually listened to much music over the past week. Normally I use my iPod in the car when I'm going out but I've just not bothered lately. I should really listen to my new house tracks that I downloaded, and I have some garagey style stuff too. I find it easier to excercise with music though so I should probably start doing a bit more of that. I find that house music is particularly good for running etc.

This isn't exactly relevant but I finally downloaded the UK language pack for my phone so I don't have to ignore the incorrect words that are spelled differently in America. COLOUR HAS A U PEOPLE. CENTRE WITH AN RE. ORGANISED WITH AN S. It makes me happy to see English spellings after 2 years of having Blackberry phones. I'm quite easily amused so yeah.

TV wise I've stuck to Doctor Who, Torchwood and Celebrity Big Brother. As much as people think Big Brother isn't an intelligent person's show, I can tell you as a viewer who doesn't consider themself unintelligent that you have to take everything with a pinch of salt, and sometimes you just watch for the humour. Sure, the show isn't for everyone, but I do say "don't knock it 'till you've tried it"!

Ugh, the whole family is on my back because I've spent 'the whole holidays on the laptop'. It's actually not true because I've been out quite a lot with both friends and family and I've been using my laptop when I'm not doing anything because I like being online and using LJ etc, and its not like I haven't been exercising or anything - it's probably just an excuse for everyone to have shit moods.

It's true I've been using the internet excessively though - I've become quite at home with Livejournal though. Everyone seems really friendly and it's great that there's such a large Doctor Who and Torchwood fandom that's not on Tumblr. I've really been improving on my icons - especially colouring, and I'm quite proud of the progress I've made this past week/week and a half. I started watching Doctor Who again (I like to re-watch it A LOT) and I'm also nearly half way through series 1 of Torchwood on my re-watch. I'll probably watch 'Greeks Bearing Gifts' tonight.

I've nearly got everything I need for my last year of high school now, I just need a few extra things for my uniform and then I'm done. I've really got to work hard this year and I'm definitely going to put in as much effort as possible. Because of this I left my blog on open-hiatus and I've pretty much moved here for the time being, as I find it easier to stay active because I can treat lj as a social network and it's not really a chore. I can always take breaks if I need to and I'll still have people to speak to on return. I'll be putting work and exams before online life but I'll hopefully be able to keep active (even if I don't make as many icons or manage to update communities and stuff - I was thinking of doing some fan fic because I have a great idea but it can wait) so fingers crossed and thumbs up!

This is my longest post on LJ yet - I'm getting closer to full sized posts! I didn't with this one because the internet is getting turned off for the night so I'll have to stop myself here! Also do feel free to friend me and get to know me!

Sorry for the inactivity - I've been concentrating on school and Livejournal, cause' I've realised how fun it is when you use it properly, and join communities and stuff like that. I've been making lots of icons over at my community, so you may want to check that out if you have the time.

The final episode of Doctor Who before Christmas is on tonight - it's called 'The Angels Take Manhattan' and it's set in the 1930s with dark hotel corridors, flickering lights and pitch blackness - Basically the population under 12 will wet themselves. And also, Amy and Rory leave, and apparently Amy dying could be a possibility - I really can't wait! :D

Not much has gone on, except for school and things like that. I haven't been out on bike rides much either, cause' the weathers been awful, and it only turned sunny again yesterday, which is quite annoying, cause' I just bought a new coat. -_- Well, the coat is a Regatta reduced from 130 pounds to 48, so it isn't all bad.

Wow, it's been bloody hot here in the UK over the past few days! Since I live in the North West we don't usually get heat like this but wow, I've found it hard to even leave the house!

I've been watching lots of Celebrity Big Brother and also practicing icons at my comm, and I've been trying different techniques with colouring, lighting, cropping and textures. My family don't approve of my ever increasing laptop usage so I downloaded the LJ app for my iPod, so I'm sort of cheating hehe.

Still looking to meet new friends and stuff on here, I haven't been on my blog or dw/tw site, but I will soon when I feel like it. I'd like to post more often on here than my blog and post longer, more detailed posts, but I'll definitely be here most of the time.

If you're reading this, hey. I've been working on my journal and icons comm for most of the day, whilst squeezing a bit of coursework in at the same time. LJ is really quite tiring, but also really really addictive. I want to keep working at it and improve my icon skills and meet new people on here - every time I try to get serious I always end up forgetting about Livejournal, so hopefully I'll be able to keep up the icons whilst posting on my blog and adding info to fleshandstone.tk (it's a long work in progress and I plan to spend months/years on it, it's my project) so I need to improve a lot. I do want to keep my computer/internet usage so a normal level though, and remember that I do have a life. Anyway time for a tea break.

I've made a livejournal! I never did do well on lj, but I'm improving on my icons, so thumbs up! I apologize to those who haven't received replies - I will reply to comments, but just not straight away - I have other things to do too.

In school, we've got ring binders for most lessons, and frankly, they p*ss me off. A lot. They break, pages rip, plastic wallets rip, things fall out, they don't fit in my bag... Need I continue? It's God damn annoying, that's what it is, and the school don't even bother to get good quality ones - just dodgy cheap ones. -_- I made macaroni cheese in catering, and I hate cheese, therefore I did not eat it, but my family liked it, which was good. I'm making lasagna next - good luck me - although I'm fairly sure it will fail. -_-

I really miss having a Piczo site - everything was a lot easier and there was always tons of visitors, and loads of people who would sign your shoutbox and be like, 'Visit my site its amazin urs is gd 2!!!' and you'd be like, wow, feeling popular here? I still remember some of my logins and passwords, but the sites all had shit names. -__-

This week, I've remodeled 3 sections of the site, Comments, Domain & Coded Layouts. I should really add some new Coded layouts, along with Icons, Edits, Colourings and Quotes. I'm pretty shit at gifs, so I won't bother making any of those, cause' you might go blind from the horrible sight.

My brother is supposed to be getting Guinea Pigs (if I didn't spell that right, well, I can't spell, so who gives a fuck?) today. He's been going on about them for the whole effing half-a-week, and It's really starting to annoy me now. He's been entertained by some of those tacky online games like Moshi Monsters and Club Penguin(Habbo was the best), which makes him a little less excitable and annoying. Well, as 'not annoying' as my brother can get, anyway. But he has been getting into trouble a lot for sneaking food and stuff. I love being the oldest sibling.

Ugh, school will be back around again soon, which means GCSEs. I started 2 modules a year early - Physics 1 and Maths unit 1 Higher tier. I found out that I'd got an A in Physics, which I'm shit at, and a B in maths, which I'm also pretty shit at! I was really pleased with the results, and I was like, 'Fuck yeah, go me!'. And all the smart kids got less that me in Maths, so, another 'Fuck yeah, go me!' is in order. ;D

I've been watching Series 3 (Doctor Who) lately, the one with Martha Jones, and I was watching the episodes '42', 'Human Nature' and 'The Family of Blood'. 42 is one of the best standalone episodes ever - the storyline and suspense is great, but Human Nature & The Family Of Blood just blow you away. It's more like a 1913 drama, until some random aliens pull weird looking guns out. Awkward much? But the whole concept of 'War coming to England a year in advance' is brilliant. You should really watch it, or at least read about it at the TARDIS Wikia! And since I've watched those 3, it means that it's time for BLINK!!!!

Now for Celebrity Big Brother. Do not diss, not ever, or you die. o_o I didn't really expect Cheryl Fergison to go, I wanted The Situation from Jersey Shore, or as Julian Clarey calls him, 'The Occasional Table' (which is more fitting in my opinion), to be evicted. Cheryl should have won, what with her strange euphemisms and strange terms like 'Crunch' 'Winky Woo' 'Bridget Jonses' and 'Flangelena Jolie'. If you don't watch Big Brother, you shouldn't really read that sentence. ;D

Hopefully, one I've saved enough money, I'll be able to buy my own domain, cause' I have a card now, so I can spend what I want. Maybe a .info? They're cheap and they look good with the site names I had in mind.

On Monday, we got up early to go on Holiday to Wales. In that time, I closed the site with a message regarding how I wouldn't have computer access. Then we packed the car, locked up and started driving to Wales.

The journey there was nice - I listened to music with wind blowing on my face as I like to have the window down quite a bit. We got to where our (actually my nan & granddad's) caravan is, we unpacked the car and went in, and went on a quick trip to Tesco - their own brand of Pringles are really quite tasty!

I went to Pensarn on Monday - it's a really nice beach at the edge of Abergele. There's a small promenade with a few cafes arcades and whatnot. It's really nice and it's not too quiet - I'm not really one for quiet, closed off places - I like it when there's a lot of people around - I'm a city person!

I've been quite addicted to Twitter lately - I haven't used BBM or Facebook much for a while, cause' Twitter has been a lot more appealing lately. What clients do you guys use for Twitter? I usually use the web on my laptop, and Ubersocial on my phone. I'm thinking of getting Metrotwit for my laptop, though. Thoughts?

On Saturday, we went to the barn at our caravan site with my grandparents - they go most Saturdays since there's a bingo, raffle and quiz. But there was one thing that was wrong with it - the place was full of craneflies! I hate those little fuckers. I also have Arachnophobia - the fear of spiders, and since craneflies are quite like spiders, you can see why I hate them. According to Wikipedia, people who have arachnophobia will often search for spiders or the like on entering a room - I sometimes do this in my bedroom, because, like the Wikipedia page says, once I see one, I follow its every move until it's gone or someone gets rid of it. Ugh, I hate spiders. End of. Except for tarantulas, they're cool. Period.

The layout is called Flesh and Stone, just like my site's name, and because it features the episode Flesh and Stone. There's been a bit of a change around with the positioning, and the CSS now has a strict colour scheme, grey and pale dark blue. I really like how the CSS turned out, especially with the light shadows, which looks kinda' eerie.

Whilst I was away, I went to Llandudno. I bought the Hunger Games trilogy, and I read the first book in a few hours. It was brilliant - the suspense, the darkness of it and the overall storyline. I really enjoyed reading it, and I'm looking forward to getting further into the second book, Catching Fire.

I haven't actually added any new graphics, but I've changed the layout on the links page so that it's a lot simpler and more my style - plus I wanted to use the CSS from the previous layout, Last Adventure, cause' I really liked it. The layout (well, more of a small banner) features the episode 'The Waters Of Mars', one of the specials before 'The End Of Time', where David Tennant leaves. He was the best Doctor in my opinion.

I'm about to have a BBQ with my family, cause' the weather is amazing and it's boiling by British standards. ;) I smell burgers - roll on this barbecue!

hell yeah, offbeatsoul is open! it took about two hours to change what i needed to, but other than that, thank kelsey for everything! she's a great host! :) i was so surprised when i won, and i was in school at the time!

i usually take about two days to set up a small site, but it took a lot longer this time. i couldn't decide which blogging system to use, but i settled for fanupdate, since wordpress was just too much hassle, and the coding wouldn't be mine anymore. i was going to use a layout of a cheetah, but at the last minute, i changed it to kayla hadlington. she has some really pretty photographs, and she is really popular in the world of blogging.

the css in this layout didn't change, apart from the colours, which i think look really good with the banner. everything is a lot darker than before, and a lot calmer and more relaxed. hopefully, this will be nice and easy on the eyes.

this week i celebrated my birthday. my present from my parents was a blackberry curve 8520! i'm really pleased with it, and i'm having so much fun with it! my younger brother bought me the new harry potter dvd, and i got a lot of chocolate and money! over the spring break, i went to wales, and i found an 'animal' surf shop! i found a great new school bag there, and i'm really pleased with it!

so, at the minute, i haven't added any new content. i just wanted to move away from webs so i could use php again. i've deleted a few things from the content section, but other than that, nothing's changed. if anyone wants to join the affiliates friends group at offbeatsoul, just leave me a comment, asking to be on that page!

Life! Well, this week, it's been pretty hectic, especially Friday! Friends slapping each other in the face, maths teachers turning the lesson into english, more arguments between silly people, people asking each other for fights - you get the idea.

I don't mind Rihanna's song, but it's not brilliant. :-?

I've been round at my friend's house a lot this week. We both love playing 'The Sims', and we always have a good laugh. Their Border Collie, Harry, is so cute! He's a short hair, and he's so clever. It's so funny when he opens doors with his paw! He thinks it's a hand! Harry has got to be one of my favourite dogs!

I really need to get my phone unlocked. I wan't to switch networks, but my phone is simlocked to t-mobile. :( I'm going to have to pay to unlock it, since it can't be done online. ;|

On Friday, I came in to school, not expecting this, but my friend was so happy! Let's call her Giggles. Her other friend had a croaky voice before school, at the shops, and Giggles had asked her to stop, since the noise made her sick. We can call my next friend Blondie. Well, Blondie kept asking Giggle's croaky friend questions, so that she would have to speak. Giggles then said, 'If you don't stop, I'll slap you in the face'. Blondie replied, 'I'd like to see you try!' Giggles then turned round and did slap her in the face. Blondie didn't slap her back, she just walked off. How bad of Giggles to do that. Blondie and Giggles are both my friends, but they are always arguing, and it bugs the life out of me!

I'll give you some questions to answer, just for those people who like to leave nice, long comments.

Hey guys, not going to blog much today. There is really nothing to blog about this week, except for the fact that I had exams, but so did more or less everyone, so it's really not a big deal.
