Welcome to Concrete Rebellion, a shrine to the architectural movement of Brutalism. Often a love-hate subject, it's one of my favourite styles/art movements and has a rich, interesting history (most notably in Europe and in former-Soviet countries). Whilst many of the buildings have been left to fall into disrepair or haven't had the necessary upkeep to preserve their former beauty, there are still plenty of gems across the world. For me, Brutalist buildings make great photographic subjects, especially due to their block colours and hard angles. There are also many idiosyncratic buildings that break with the otherwise similar style to make fascinating shapes. The dull greys and harsh geometry of Brutalist architecture can mean that buildings look imposing and unsettling, but I personally enjoy the ability of architecture to have such an unusual emotional effect on people and that's part of the reason why I love this style so much.
